A rainy October day and an earthy fall palette made Clara and Jaiver’s wedding at Westwynd Gardens one for the books! If you haven’t yet heard of Westwynd Gardens, get ready to fall in love. Located in Honey Brook, PA, it was designed by a mother-daughter team to be the perfect year-round wedding venue, regardless of the weather. And given that this fall day was extremely rainy, I’d say Clara and Jaiver picked the perfect spot.
From a greenhouse ceremony to an emotional surprise during the reception, you’re not going to want to miss a single moment from this wedding!

The greenhouse at Westwynd Gardens is an absolute rainy-day dream. Picture glass walls stretching high above the ceremony, letting the soft October light pour in while the rain gently taps the panes. It felt peaceful and intimate. Clara’s bridesmaids were dressed in rich reds, oranges, and browns that matched the changing leaves outside. The ceremony arch and stunning bouquets all coordinated perfectly with the moody fall landscape. You could tell that Clara and Jaiver were relaxed and very present. Her dad even officiated the ceremony, which made the whole thing even more personal.
Clara and Jaiver’s love story was like something out of a movie. When they first met, Clara only spoke English and Jaiver only spoke Spanish. They used Google Translate to get to know each other and slowly learned each other’s languages. It was so evident how much love they have for each other.

Inside the reception space, the energy was joyful and emotional. After dinner, Clara’s sister gave a beautiful speech that ended with a few sentences in Spanish, just for Jaiver. Then her brother followed suit in his speech, also ending with a Spanish message. It was such a sweet testament to the effort both families had made to connect across languages.
And just when I thought the night couldn’t get more sentimental, Clara’s dad announced that she had a special surprise for Jaiver: a voice memo from his parents, who couldn’t make it to the U.S. for the wedding. He hadn’t seen them in eight years, and hearing their voices filled the entire room with tears.

Clara’s sister Raquel had these kind words to say about her sister’s wedding: “Johanna did an incredible job for my sister’s wedding. The photos came out beautifully. She gave good direction and had creative ideas. Definitely book her! She’s worth it.”

Clara is a super talented potter and hand-crafted a ceramic mug for every single guest. They were displayed on a rack, ready to be used for a cozy late-night coffee bar and then taken home as favors. It was such a thoughtful touch.

In addition to photography, I also did some wedding content creation. That means I filmed behind the scenes content for Clara and Jaiver, and also provided a sneak peek gallery all within 24 hours. Clara told me at the end of the night that I felt like a “girls girl”, which was really nice (*internally sobs*).
Here’s what else Clara had to say:
“Johanna made my wedding day so at ease with how flexible she was with what shots I wanted or didn’t want. She had such creative ideas on what poses to do. She made the day go so smoothly by being prepared and professional. She is so easy to talk to and communicate with when planning the wedding. There was no stress about my photography for the day because she just had it covered. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She made it work so well even with a rainy day of the wedding. It was all just so fantastic!!”
Many couples fear rain on their wedding day. But in the end, the rain added a kind of fall magic that made the day even more special. Westwynd Gardens was the perfect cozy backdrop for a wedding filled with love, emotional moments, and so much joy. If you’re dreaming of wedding photos that feel real and full of connection (no matter the forecast), I’d love to capture your day. Let’s chat!
