Outdoor Maternity Photos in Lancaster County Central Park

When Alexis and Gabriel first reached out to me about a maternity session, they were dreaming of a mix of candid photos as well as up-close, stylistic images. They wanted outdoor maternity photos somewhere in Lancaster County, in a location with greenery and a creek. I suggested one of my favorite parks for photo shoots: Lancaster County Central Park. During a late evening in August one month before Alexis’s due date, we headed out for their maternity session in the park!

The Location: Lancaster County Central Park

In Lancaster County, there is no shortage of beautiful outdoor places for maternity photos. But I have to say that Lancaster County Central Park is one of my favorite spots! Not only is it easily accessible and free to the public, but there are so many gorgeous backdrops to choose from in the park. From open fields perfect for catching golden hour to enchanting forests and creeks, it’s got it all.

Natural and Romantic Vibes

Alexis and Gabriel had two outfits. For the first part of the session, Alexis wore a romantic light green summer dress, and Gabriel wore a black shirt with white pants. I captured candid and cozy photos of the couple in a field just as the sun was beginning to set.

Moody and Editorial Vibes

In contrast to the natural vibes from the first part of the session, the second part felt more moody and editorial. Alexis wore a sleek black dress with a cutout and Gabriel wore a black shirt with black pants. We spent time both in the field and by the creek, taking advantage of the different backdrops the park has to offer. Alexis and Gabriel were open to trying some unique posing ideas I had in mind. And I have to say… I love how they turned out!
